“What happened to go whistle for it?” West Midlands UKIP MEP James Carver, demands to know today after leaked news the Tory government has capitulated over the Brexit “divorce” bill.
Outraged, Mr Carver said: “Whilst the outspoken Boris Johnson was very belligerent earlier in this summer towards the Brexit negotiations, he is uncharacteristically quiet on his Twitter this morning, deflecting his followers to the situation in North Korea.
“The government has, as predicted, rolled over like a submissive puppy. Theresa May has jumped from an £18b offer to reportedly being prepared to stump up anything between £40b and £55b to be paid over 40 years – that’s around £850 for every British man, woman and child.
“How loudly and how often do we have to say WE DON’T NEED TRADE TALKS THAT BADLY!?
“We can walk away and trade on World Trade Organisation rules. The European nations need us more than we need them – there is no cliff edge, companies and consumers will continue to trade with each other.”
