UKIP’s Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs spokesman is urging the government not to let opportunities for trade with Nigeria slip by.
As Africa’s largest economy and biggest democracy, post-Brexit Britain should look to such nations to develop trading relationships, says James Carver.
The West Midlands MEP is passionate about making the most of opportunities to increase trade with Commonwealth members.
Mr Carver said: “I’m baffled that countries like the Netherlands and Belgium export more to Nigeria than the UK does.
“It is time to further develop these emerging markets to ensure we truly have a Global Britain after Brexit.”
