A Government pledge that it will work with Britain’s lucrative maritime industry to make it a world leader, has been welcomed by West Midlands UKIP MEP James Carver.
He said: “I am delighted that transport secretary Chris Grayling has promised that this £15 billion industry will go from strength to strength in the wake of Brexit, as the Government devises an export plan to help bolster trading prospects.
“Leaving the European Union will enable us to rediscover our heritage as a truly global, maritime, trading nation by grasping new opportunities.”
