Herefordshire MEP James Carver has been out campaigning at the launch of a grassroots revolution to force the Prime Minister to deliver “the Brexit that Britain voted for”.
The Independent Euro MP joined businessman Christopher Kingsley and other Brexiteers in Ross on Wye on Saturday to encourage members of the public to sign postcards urging the government to deliver Brexit without compromise.
Mr Kingsley, who runs a travel firm, plans to collect signatures to the pre-printed postcards at carnivals and country fairs around the county and send them off to Herefordshire MPs Jesse Norman and Bill Wiggin.
Mr Carver, an Independent, who represents the whole of the West Midlands in the European Parliament, said: “Herefordshire for Brexit is a great way of giving the silent majority a voice, and the campaign looks set to spread to Worcestershire and hopefully other counties as well.
“It is a brilliant way of galvanising people after two years of stalemate over our exit from the EU to remind our politicians, in no uncertain terms, that it’s time to deliver.
“More than 59 per cent of the electorate in Herefordshire voted to leave in the referendum. We had a fantastic response in Ross on Wye and there was plenty of anger and frustration over the Brexit betrayal.”
