The march towards a European army is being stepped up with revelations that more than a dozen projects have been drawn up as part of a vision being led by France and Germany.
West Midlands UKIP MEP James Carver said the list of projects, obtained by Politico, covering areas including training, capability development and operational readiness was “clear evidence of the grand plan”.
He said: “Despite all that’s been said denying the move towards an army, here we have 17 projects being unveiled next week including increased military mobility, a crisis response operation core and a European Medical Command.
“These will have far-reaching consequences for the 27 nation states who are destined to lose their sovereignty and independent voice in a European super state.
“This will also challenge the traditional neutrality of EU member states the Republic of Ireland, Austria and Sweden.
“Brexit could not be happening at a more significant moment for the UK as we shake off the EU shackles.”
