West Midlands UKIP MEP James Carver is "delighted" at the news German-owned Muller is investing £100 million in its Shropshire factories.
He said : "It is great news for the county's economy and is further evidence that multi-nationals have faith in investing here and are looking to the long term, post Brexit."
The announcement follows hot-on-the-heels of reports earlier this week that British manufacturing is now the eighth largest in the world, which Mr Carver said was "good news for all except the doom and gloom merchants".
The dairy giant is investing to grow its range of yogurts and desserts and will mean expansion of its Market Drayton headquarters and factories in Telford and Minsterley.
