West Midlands MEP James Carver says a new EU 'vampire tax' on garlic will create a stink.
The UKIP MEP says a new ruling, by an EU court, has stuck its fangs into millions of pounds from Britain.
Commenting today on the latest ruling, Mr Carver said: “This time we've been forced to hand over £15 million to Brussels in a vampire tax to settle a long running dispute over garlic shipped from China.
“This latest dispute with the European Commission is about whether the garlic was frozen or fresh.
“It's ridiculous. This latest interference really does leave a foul taste in the mouth and the only way to stick a stake in the heart of this incessant meddling in our affairs is to leave the EU altogether.”
