Worcester MEP James Carver has reacted angrily to news about three Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Groups restricting hip and knee replacement operations.
“There is no way that my constituents should be subject to a postcode lottery. The impact on everyday life by problems in these joints can be immense and it should not be up to a bureaucrat in an office to make decisions on an arbitrary points system.
“Doctors should be making decisions in the best interests of their patients, not in the best financial interests of CCGs,” said Mr Carver, UKIP Euro-MP.
